Google vs. Facebook World Wide War.
Do you like this story?

Since the beginning of last year when Facebook talk about launching several new applications, the war between facebook and Google was now. Each company have gone every different route as to how they are going to master the world wide web. Before a few short years ago Google had the crown for this. The way they gather data was perfect for the way the web was used at the time. Now times are changing the internet is no long a tool were one can find information (you can still do that, and Googles proccess for that is only getting better). it seems now with the interdiction of social networking, the intent is changing, people can now get personalized search results, rather than ones taken off a random database.
"I think what we've found is that when you can use products with your friends and your family and the people you care about they tend to be more engaging," Zuckerberg said in an interview with the CBS show "60 Minutes." People enjoy using the internet, like anything when they feel that they are a part of it. With more than 600 million active users (with projection of over a billion by 2012). around 50% of Facebook active users log in for an average of 35 mins on any given day, and the Facebook user take up 25% of the time spent on the internet

For the first time in the history of the world, the largest company (Google) has no tangible product. All they do is provide a resource and other companies pay to advertise on their sites or to be first on the list on the search engine. One of the biggest advantages that Google has is their IPO. The opening price for Google’s stock was $85 per share when they went public August 19, 2004. but has soared as high as $600 in the past 5 years(a great return on your money close to 85%) Now Google most definitely had the advantage starting off, they had 25 million indexed web pages, and with in ten years that number grow to 25 billion, that's almost 3.5 pages per person on the planet.
now the biggest advantage that Google has is the power of the people, where Google is a ipo, the people not only invest in the company but they also have a say in the out come in the actions they take. being a publicly traded company, you run into the concern of the company become monetary. I really like that fact that Facebook has not gone public because then there would be even less identity protection. hard to say who i want in control of my information; a board of (old men who only care about money) directors or a privet company run by almost one man,(but differently not the government) who has less restrictions and the power to do what they want with the vast amount of information (those non tangible products).
Really we have the choose to put what we want on Facebook, and better than that we can pick who see it. I really do feel it is the end of Google. With the rumors of Facebook acquisitions of over 35 different companies next year Google better watch out. Facebook has changed the way we use the internet and how it works. And with the over 700 billion minutes spent on Facebook per month, it will be hard to beat an army like that.
Google started in 1996 and it did not take them long to take over Yahoo (do we even still use that), Facebook started in 2004 for college students and in 2007 to everyone. Guess we will have to wait a few years before we know who's going to win this World Wide War

If I were the owner and CEO of Facebook I would stay private forever.
